The third year of SNOWYfest cemented the festival as a fixture of the Thredbo ski season opening month, with record attendances, entries and quality of films.

The SNOWYfest Judges (check them out here) universally praised the quality of our 2006 entries in both our Best Short Film and Capital Region Film categories. The sentiment was shared by audiences at SNOWYfest, with the festival drawing to a close in June 2006 after a fantastic weekend of skiing, boarding, features and short films galore.

The results of our Judges deliberations were announced at the champagne-filled Awards Party in the Thredbo Alpine Hotel, on Saturday 17 June 2006. The competition was extremely close, but in the end we saw a clear winner in both categories and our first ever international winner of our Best Film Prize. Photos from our winning films appear (in order) at the right underneath the sample program pages from our 2006 Festival Program.
