SNOWYfest 2004 closed with 94 entries received and 38 shortlisted finalists (below), screening in Thredbo before an appreciative audience.

Following the screening, the Awards Presentation saw the following results of the SNOWYfest Judges deliberations:

Successes of the 2004 SNOWYfest Winners

Splintered (Produced: Stuart Parkyn, Directed: Peter Templeman) winner of the $2,500 Best Short Film in 2004, won the 2005 Grandy Jury prize for Best Narrative Short at the Slamdance Short Film Festival, making it eligible to enter the Academy Awards.

Ward 13 (Produced & Directed by Peter Cornwell in association with Trephine Productions and the AFC) winner of the $500 Runner Up Short Film in 2004, has won numerous international awards and was shortlisted for a 2005 Academy Award nomination.
